Kirk’s background in science and medicine, brings a dramatic realism not only to his books, but also to his artwork, which ranges from paintings to prints, and many places in between.
His music draws primarily from the American folk tradition, with four albums released to date in that vein.
Recent musical endeavors under the moniker The Digital Ruin have diverged considerably, entering the electronic realm—synthwave, dark synth, retro, and tech house. The Digital Ruin’s first release, Astral Overload, is available now.
Kirk is also a garage luthier who has constructed a variety of musical instruments. He is most known for his cigar box guitars.
